Mari Kasich

Mari holds a BFA in dance from the University of Minnesota Minneapolis.  Throughout her dance training and performing, she developed chronic knee, ankle and back pain.  Like many athletes and dancers Mari looked to the Gyrotonic method of movement to help strengthen and stabilize her skeletal structure, alleviate pain and feel at home in her body once again! That is exactly what happened. Not long after adopting the Gyrotonic method as an integral part of her lifestyle and movement therapy, her posture improved and she had the energy and confidence to pursue other athletic interests!

Gyrotonic exercises helped her to gain an understanding of her body’s patterning and functioning at an such an optimal level that she explored adventure running, boxing, rock climbing and distance swimming in addition to her dance practice.  This enthusiasm for adventure, increased endurance and agility led her to pursue a path as a Gyrotonic teacher almost immediately and after that a teacher trainer.

After completing the Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis teacher training programs, Mari taught Gyrotonic in Minneapolis, MN and in Escazu, Costa Rica. Shortly thereafter, in 2006, Mari joined the staff at the Center for Education and Gyrotonic Final Certificate courses in Miami Beach. After nearly two years, Mari took over the operation of what became Miami Beach GYROTONIC.  She has been managing and directing the studio for four years.  Mari is currently a Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis and Gyrotoner Master Trainer. Mari enjoys introducing the Gyrotonic modality to beginners and educating the various populations about the special benefits the method has to offer. Currently, her clients range from those recovering from injuries or suffering from chronic pain to professional dancers and athletes.
